Political data mapping allows you to add specific fields from selected email-to-target databases to a supporter record. For example, adding a supporter's parliamentary constituency in the UK or their congressional district in the USA to their record.
This information can then be used to gain a better understanding of which political area your supporters reside in and for improved audience targeting or segmentation.
For political data mapping to be successful, when mapping US databases to your supporters, they’re required to have a valid US Address and a 9-digit zip code, whilst UK databases require a valid postcode.
Create new data fields for mapping
If you’re using data mapping for the first time, you will need to create extra database fields in your Account Data Structure for each database you use.
You do not need to map every field, but you will need to create up to 5 corresponding data fields to align with the mapping fields for each database. However, for some multi-contact databases, you may want to add duplicate versions of each field, such as ‘Title 1’ and ‘Title 2’:

Reviewing the data
To view your mapped data, go to Data & Reports > Export (under Data) or Data & Reports > Lookup supporter. You can now search supporters based on supporter data, and when you export the data or view it online, you will be able to see the newly mapped information in the additional data columns.
Available databases for mapping
You will be able to map your supporter data to any of the following databases, provided they have been included in your subscription:
