Contact databases (post code target databases)

This document provides instructions on the databases available to use in your email-to-target, X post-to-target or click-to-call campaigns. These databases will usually return the relevant contact, or contacts, based on an entered postcode.

Selecting a database

Selecting a target database, or databases, for your campaign can be done in the Admin page of your campaign (the Target Settings panel), which can be accessed via the settings cog/ gear icon.

Available databases

What databases you have available depends on your contract. If you wish add more, please contact support.

Key:

In the UK

National government

Westminster MPs ❎ ⇄ -
Returns your supporter’s MP.
This database is ready to use with newly elected MPs. Click to Call is not yet enabled for this dataset

MSP/MS/MLA/England MP ❎ ⇄
This includes members of devolved parliaments, plus MPs for England.
There are also two variants available: MSP constituency only & MSP region.
This database is ready to use with newly elected MPs. Click to Call is not yet enabled for this dataset

House of Lords
This database does not use postcode lookup. Instead a randomiser can be used to choose one to target. Contact Support for more information

Local government

All councillors - these databases are ready to use with newly elected councillors
Councillors – Upper Tier For postcodes that have a two-tier council this will return their county councillors. For single-tier it will return their borough, unitary or district councillors
District/Unitary Authority Councillors For postcodes that have a two-tier council, this will return their unitary or district councillors
County Councillors This will only return county councillors, so doesn’t cover the whole of the UK

Specific council members - these databases are ready to use with newly elected councillors
Council Leaders – Upper Tier For postcodes that have a two-tier council this will return their county councillor leader. For single-tier it will return their borough, unitary or district councillor leader
District/Unitary/Borough Council leaders For postcodes that have a two-tier council, this will return their unitary or district councillor leader
County Council Leaders English Counties only are included in this database. If no target is found, then the contact “No County Council for this area” is returned which you can redirect on
Council Transport Leads Transport Leads aren’t covered by the NI districts (apart from one for “Belfast City Council”) and there is a Vacant Seat in “London Borough of Hackney”

After the elections, databases have been renamed adding DO NO USE to their names. Vote counting and publishing official results in Australia usually takes a long time and we will let you know once the databases have been updated.

Address 1, City, State and Zip are required for all US databases. Also note that Title with the values Mr. Mrs. Miss Ms. or Dr. and a 10 digit phone number are required for the US Senate database.

This database does not use postcode lookup. To use in an ETT it will need to be a custom database. Please talk to Support if you wish to have that set up

Downloading data from target databases

You cannot download contact data, such as email addresses, for target databases. By using the reference data functionality, you are able to download limited information.

Supporter Address Not Pulling a Target

We do our best to maintain and keep our databases as up-to-date as possible. There are times when supporter addresses are not pulling a target from the database. You can request an update to the database.
