Data types
There are two distinct data types in your account: supporter data and transactional data.
Supporter data
This is a record of semi-permanent information associated with a particular individual, such as their contact details and can only contain one value for a supporter at any given time. We don’t retain transactional records of updates to supporter data; however, it is possible to roll back changes using the Manage Supporter gadget.
Transactional data
This data is used to process transactional activities, such as donations, advocacy actions or broadcast email engagement and can be categorised as:
Unrecorded: Is used for processing purposes only and is not logged permanently on your account. An example of this would be a credit card number.
Recorded: Is logged permanently on your account and is linked to a constituent by a unique numeric database ID and campaign ID. Unlike supporter data, it is not overwritten by subsequent activities by the same constituent. An example of this would be a donation amount.
